Our History
PBBS was founded in 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. What started as a boiler service company that served seven counties has grown to a full boiler room solutions provider with 6 offices in 4 states. As a third-generation, family-owned company, we continue to follow the traditions that support our commitment to excellence in customer satisfaction – the values this company was built on.
Victor Carberry starts PBBS with 2 other associates servicing Cleaver Brooks boilers in seven counties of SE Wisconsin. Leasing only a small store front on 43rd and Center St. in Milwaukee.
1957Moves shop location to 3535 North Palmer Street in Milwaukee, WI
1958Cleaver Brooks assigns all of Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan to PBBS
PBBS opens first office in Madison
1964Milwaukee office moves to 4135 N. 127th Street in Brookfield, WI
PBBS opens first office in Stevens Point, WI
First Company Picnic is held

1988PBBS purchases assets of Heinen Company in the Twin Cities. PBBS now services Wisconsin, Minnesota and UP of Michigan
Twin Cities location moves into new facility at 3329 Mike Collins Drive in Eagan, MN
1993Victor Carberry, Founder of PBBS passes away at 75 years old, Tim Carberry takes over as President of PBBS
1995PBBS acquires Foster Boiler Works to expand its capabilities into vessel repair and ASME code work
1997Milwaukee office builds new 24,000 sq. ft. building in Menomonee Falls, WI 1997. Stevens Point office moves into new facility in Plover, WI
1997Scott Carberry (Vic’s grandson, Tim’s son) starts at PBBS
1998Green Bay office moves into new facility
Madison office moves into its new location located in Cottage Grove, WI
2004Adam Sauer (Vic’s grandson, Sheila’s son) starts at PBBS
2005PBBS Celebrate 50 Years
2006PBBS acquires Adelsman Company in Fergus Falls, MN. PBBS now represents Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the UP of Michigan
2008Kayla Dauphinais (Vic’s granddaughter, Sheila’s daughter) starts with PBBS
Fergus Falls office moves operations to West Fargo, ND
2015Shannon Belrose (Vic’s granddaughter, Joel Carberry’s Daughter) starts with PBBS
2019Tim Carberry retires from PBBS Equipment after 45 years of service, Scott Carberry moves into role of President & COO, Jim Carberry role of VP of Service and Parts (COB), Joel Carberry to Corporate VP, Kayla Dauphinais to Controller – CFO, Adam Sauer to Field Training & Support, and Nicole Mier (Vic’s granddaughter, Jim Carberry’s Daughter) starts with PBBS.
PBBS celebrates 65 years
